Peja, real name Ryszard Andrzejewski, is one of the most recognizable and influential artists on the Polish hip-hop scene. He began his career in the 90s, becoming a pioneer of the genre in Poland as the leader of the group Slums Attack. His lyrics, often controversial but full of social observations and personal reflections, quickly gained recognition among fans.

 

Peja is known for his unwavering stance and authenticity, which has earned him the status of an icon in Polish rap. Among his most popular works are “Na legalu?” (2001), one of the most important albums in the history of Polish rap, “Szacunek ludzi ulicy” (2012), and “Czarny Wrzesień” (1998), which solidified his position on the scene.

His contribution to the development of Polish hip-hop culture is invaluable, and tracks like “Szczęśliwego Nowego Jorku” and “Głucha Noc” remain unforgettable hits that have stood the test of time.
